ABOUT 80% OF THE COAL SHIPPED TO THE FAR EASTERN RAILWAY IS EXPORTED
In the first half of the year, 16.2 million tons of coal products were loaded on the road, of which 12.5 million tons were exported.
Export shipments of coal from the stations of the Far Eastern Highway increased by almost 17% in 6 months compared to last year's result.
A significant share of exports is formed by the Elgin coal mine. In January – June, loading from this field increased by a third, reaching 8.8 million tons.
The growth of transportation became possible due to the renewal of mining equipment in the section and the modernization of the Elga – Ulak railway line. The previously announced expansion of the carrying capacity of this junction connecting the field with BAM to 30 million tons annually was completed this year.
