RUSSIAN, BELARUSIAN AND KAZAKH RAILWAY WORKERS INTEND TO INCREASE THE VOLUME OF CONTAINER TRAFFIC IN THE DIRECTION OF CHINA
Oleg Belozerov, General Director – Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "Russian Railways", Vladimir Morozov, Head of the Belarusian Railway, and Nurlan Sauranbayev, Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways), discussed issues of increasing the volume of container traffic in the direction of China.
During the meeting, which took place via video link, Oleg Belozerov and Vladimir Morozov noted a significant increase in applications from Russian and Belarusian shippers in the direction of China through the territory of Kazakhstan.
In addition, the negotiators noted a tendency to restore the volume of transit traffic and an increase in requests for transportation in the services of JSC "OTLK EPA" in all directions, which contributes to the preservation and further improvement of key parameters of rail transit transportation: high speed and stability of delivery times, safety of cargo en route, environmental friendliness of transportation and convenience for customers, including the possibility of payments in yuan.
The heads of the three railway companies also discussed proposals for the passage of increased export volumes across the Kazakh-Chinese border, including the formation of trains of increased length and further improvement of the technology of border crossings in cooperation with Chinese railways.
